Just playing around with implmenting search results on the new website, i really liked the idea of creating an endless page in the style of Google Reader as i am not a fan of chunks of results..
Having looked into it there seems to be some disagreement as to whether the average user ‘gets it’ or even likes it… now i don’t know if to just do the standard page numbers or something more exciting -decisions, decisions!
CakePHP’s documentation is infuriatingly hard to use.. if i could figure out why i would help them fix it (being open source and all) but i really don’t know - it just seems that everything takes 30minutes to find the answer to.
Despite this, the framework rules.. I have gone from idea in my head to functional website with upload and search functions in 2 days. Of course there is still months of design and fine tuning to do, but meh.. 2 days!
Finished university last week and had the exhibition this evening - its all done!
Got a bunch of projects to work on over the coming months including; a big update and competition on StudentSay, development of flashracer with Jon and hopefully backend work on the new site i registered last month. I will be posting updates on all here.
